I have an HP desktop that was tipped over and the hard drive damaged. Purchased new hard drive and re-installed windows 7. I am using the OEM that came factory with the PC but of course will not follow through with activation. I finally got someone on the phone from Microsoft and they told me that for whatever reason the OEM license is locked and I would not be able to use it. This query may as well be closed.
